Visit Olson Beach in Rock Cut State Park

Admission is $3 ($2 for children under 48 inches, infants are free).Open swim is noon to 7pm daily from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day (including Independence Day).  Activities include swimming, sand volleyball, boat rentals, and concessions.  Changing rooms are provided and an outdoor sand shower is available to rinsing off the sand before going home.  Olson Beach is protected by Ellis & Associates trained lifeguard team.  Olson Lake is a great lake for fishing and boating (carry-on craft only, only electric motors allowed).

or Visit Standfield Beach in Levings Lake Park

Admission is $2 ($1 for children under 48 inches, infants are free).Open swim is noon to 7pm daily from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day (including Independence Day, but closed for school days).  Activities include swimming, sand volleyball, boat rentals, and concessions.  Changing rooms are provided.  Standfield Beach is protected by Ellis & Associates trained lifeguard team.  Levings Lake is a great lake for fishing and boating (carry-on craft only).

Olson Beach is a 250 yard sand beach on Olson Lake in Rock Cut State Park.  Swimming is broken up into three 200 foot swim areas, ranging from zero depth to 4 feet deep.  

Lifeguard Teams

Each beach is protected by a team of highly trained professional lifeguards.  Their duty is to make sure that everyone who comes to the beach, leaves safely at the end of the day.   All lifeguards complete an lifeguard course and hold an ILTP license that also includes qualifications in first aid, professional rescuer CPR, supplemental oxygen and AED.  Lifeguards who advance in rank also receive additional training in leadership, incident command system, patrol vehicle operation, rescue craft piloting, rescue scuba diver, first responder/EMR, lifeguard instructor, and other specialties.  The Lifeguard Team is equipped with the latest rescue equipment including rescue tubes, CPR masks, backboard, AED, rescue boards, patrol ATV and rescue craft.

Lifeguard Team #2 - Olson Beach

  Lifeguard Team #2 traces its history back to the original lifeguards who manned Windsor Beach going back into the 1950s thru the early 1970s.  Olson Beach was opened in 1988 when Rock Cut State Park added a second lake to the park named after Ronald E. Olson who donated the land for it.  Olson Beach was not lifeguarded until 2005.
